What does the VHS Bleed effect do in Ether-MOSH?

It applies animated horizontal wobble, opposite red-blue sample offsets, sparse gray dropouts, procedural noise, a stronger bottom-edge shear, and alternating-line darkening to the current frame.

Does VHS Bleed reproduce or repair a real VHS tape?

No. It is a real-time current-frame shader inspired by visible tape-playback faults. It does not read cassettes, decode analog signals, diagnose damage, restore recordings, or emulate a specific VCR.

Where is VHS Bleed, and what settings should I start with?

Open the FX panel, choose Color Chaos, and add VHS Bleed. Start at Amount 0.28 and Tracking 0.38, set Tracking for band width, then raise Amount while protecting subject recognition.

How do I use VHS-style motion accessibly in projection or video?

Keep essential text outside the effect, avoid rapid high-contrast or saturated-red changes, test the final loop full-screen on the actual display, support reduced-motion needs, and provide a clean or lower-motion alternate.

Make the VHS Bleed Effect Fix Its Damn Tracking

A practical disciplinary hearing for the color channels, the playback heads, and one bottom-edge tantrum that refuses to stay below the television bezel.

Quick answer

Ether-MOSH VHS Bleed recreates stylized damaged-tape playback with horizontal wobble, separated red and blue samples, sparse dropouts, noise, bottom-edge head-switching distortion, and alternating-line darkening. Amount sets the overall damage; Tracking widens the moving band mask. Find it under Color Chaos. Start at Amount 0.28 and Tracking 0.38 for readable analog abrasion.
