What does the Thermal effect do in Ether-MOSH?

It converts visible RGB luminance into a violet–magenta–yellow false-color map. Mix controls the blend and Range controls contrast around mid-gray.

Does the Thermal effect measure temperature or use infrared?

No. It processes ordinary RGB pixels and contains no infrared sensor or temperature calibration. Use a suitable thermal camera and measurement workflow for real thermography.

Where is Thermal, and what settings should I start with?

Open the FX panel, choose Color Chaos, and add Thermal. Start at 0.35 Mix and 0.40 Range, then tune Range for the source lighting.

How do I make false-color artwork accessible?

Do not make hue the only carrier of meaning. Preserve light-dark differences and add text, labels, patterns, or shapes whenever the colors communicate information.

Make the Thermal Effect Admit It Cannot Feel Heat

The statue turned yellow, a committee declared a fever, and the ordinary RGB camera quietly requested that everyone read the technical notes.

Quick answer

Ether-MOSH's Thermal effect maps ordinary RGB luminance into a violet–magenta–yellow false-color palette. Mix blends that stylized map with the source; Range compresses or expands contrast around mid-gray. It resembles thermal-camera imagery but detects no infrared radiation and measures no temperature. Find it under Color Chaos in the FX panel.
