What does the Painterly effect do in Ether-MOSH?

It compares four diagonal four-sample RGB regions around every pixel, selects the mean from the region with the lowest summed channel variance, and blends that color with the source.

Is Ether-MOSH Painterly a full Kuwahara filter or real paint simulation?

No. It is a sixteen-fetch live GPU approximation inspired by the classical four-region idea. It does not model pigments, bristles, canvas, drying, semantic objects, or the feature-directed anisotropic research filter.

Where is Painterly, and what settings should I start with?

Open the FX panel, choose Color Chaos, and add Painterly. Start at 0.34 Amount and Brush 6, adjust Brush first for region scale, then set final intensity with Amount.

How do I use a painterly effect accessibly in print, Lottie, or projection?

Keep essential text and controls outside the effect, preserve recognizable boundaries, proof simplified paths and physical output, avoid rapid high-contrast switching, test the real display, and provide a clean alternative when detail matters.

Make the Painterly Effect Keep Its Hands on the Edges

A conservation hearing on smooth color regions, suspiciously crisp contours, biomedical-image history, and the filter currently calling four samples a brush.

Quick answer

Ether-MOSH Painterly is a Color Chaos effect based on Kuwahara edge-preserving smoothing. For every pixel, it compares four diagonal four-sample regions, chooses the region with the lowest RGB variance, and blends that mean color over the source. Amount controls the blend; Brush changes sample spacing. Start at Amount 0.34 and Brush 6, then protect text, faces, and fine evidence.
