Is Ether-MOSH literally corrupting my video file?

No. It performs a responsive GPU interpretation of datamosh block reuse; your source file remains intact.

What footage works best?

Clips with clear motion, cuts, pans, gestures, or subjects crossing the frame make displaced blocks easier to read.

What does Block Size change?

It changes the scale of the sampled chunks, from fine digital chatter to large graphic blocks.

Open the FX panel, choose Data Corruption, and add Datamosh. Its live controls are Amount and Block Size.

Break the Keyframes Before Lunch

Your video is too stable, the group chat prefers the broken cut, and compression has finally become a creative collaborator instead of a tiny bureaucrat in your export window.

Quick answer

Classic datamoshing exploits dependencies between compressed video frames so motion data affects the wrong picture. Ether-MOSH makes a live visual interpretation: Amount decides how many blocks move and how far, while Block Size controls the chunks.
